Rothenburg is the main attraction on Germany's Romantic Road (see all the cities on our Romantic Road map. Rothenburg's medieval core is inside fortified walls; you can walk around them to get a watchman's appreciation of the old town.
As you'll see in the pictures, Rothenburg features many summer events for tourists, including band concerts like the one pictured in our gallery. It's a fun place to visit, and includes a torture museum to balance out all the quaint medieval eye candy.
