Orgosolo Mural Pictures

Politically inspired social commentary on the walls of a small Sardinian village

By , About.com Guide

One of my favorite small villages of Europe has to be Orgosolo, a village in the Barbagia mountains that began celebrating the resistance and liberation through art and hasn't stopped. The village is awash in murals with social themes, as you will see in these pictures accumulated over several years of visiting. I encourage you to see them; the area is rich in the traditions that make Sardinia special.

Also see our Orgosolo Travel Guide for information on visiting.
