Here's the way you go shopping, entering through the Roman gate of the Porta Nigra.

To complete your Roman experience, stop in at the Zum Domstein hotel on Hauptmarkt, behind the fountain. They serve Roman meals on the back terrace that faces the cathedral, using recipes from Roman cooking wiz Apicus. Your meal starts with a honeyed and spiced wine and can include venison, fish, chicken and other choices, including vegetarian.
