So I walked up the ridge to discover it. But it wasn't there. It was actually on a hill behind that ridge. Unless I was willing to climb over some fences and continued up a steep slope, my exploration effort was doomed.
So, I drove up.

It had perplexed me. Here was this village with a huge church that I could see from my bathroom window in my Lunigiana digs. I didn't know what it's name was. I couldn't find it on my map.
