Here are some suggestions for internet cafes and internet points in Venice. Most are in convenient locations not far from the train station.
Casanova Disco internet Point
It's blazingly fast, features air conditioning, LCD screens, and free popcorn in the afternoons. Minuses--loud music any time. Open around 9 am to 11:00. Near the train station (exit the station and go left) on the Lista di Spanga.

Triple Play: Internet | Laundry | Cichetti Bar
How about Planet Internet between the Speedy Wash and A Venetian cichetti Bar? All your basic needs in one place. Owned by the same folks as the Casanova disco above, the internet point is open from 8 am to 11 pm. On the Lista di Spagna just past the Guglie bridge (the first bridge you encounter on the Lista di Spagna as you exit left from the train station). The cichetti bar has a huge variety of small dishes, plus there are great sandwiches--proscuitto on a small olive roll cheap.
VeNice Internet Point
VeNice Internet Point is one to remember for other computer services. Fast internet, plus they rent card readers for 2.5 euros per hour and will burn you a cd rom with all your digital pics. Near the train station across the street from the Casanova Disco above. Fairly expensive.
Net House Internet Cafe
The longest opening internet café in Venice. "We are currently undergoing vast refurbishment which will mean when finished we will have the most comprehensive services available to offer our customers."

Internet Station and Sala Giochi
Games with your internet at the campo S. Apostoli (address: 5640 Sottoportego Falier) isn't as fast as the above, but adequate. Only 5 stations. moderate cost.
Logic Internet Point
English speaking staff, long hours. Services: printing, camera download, cd burning, laptop connection and faxing in addition to standard internet and gaming services. Rates start from 3 euro per hour - student discount for those with valid ID.

A Reader's Recommendation for an Internet Cafe in Venice
One of my challenges was finding a "good" internet cafe in Venice. The concept of bringing your own laptop and connecting was very foreign to folks there (while it was the norm in Florence... go figure). I did find one internet cafe 50 feet off the main drag in Venice by the train station that was nice, clean, quiet, and allowed laptop hookups. They also would burn flash card photos to CD and other services. I was quite happy with them, so I wanted to pass them along.
